Jack Ludlam is a lens-based artist specializing in medium and large format film photography. Originally from Ohio, he spent much of his childhood immersed in the natural world—hunting, fishing, and exploring the woods. During these excursions, Jack occasionally swapped his bow or fishing rod for his mother’s 35mm film camera, sparking his enduring interest in photography, particularly analog photography.

This passion led Jack to Denver, Colorado, where he pursued his studies at Regis University and gained access to a darkroom, further developing his education in methods such as silver gelatin printing. The tactile nature of analog photography quickly became his primary focus, guiding his artistic vision.

Much of Jack’s work centers around the documentation of overlooked or forgotten objects—relics and heirlooms—with a hyper-detailed aesthetic. His photographs aim to elevate the ordinary, revealing beauty in the seemingly mundane. Recently, Jack has expanded his practice to include mixed media, exploring alternative printing techniques to add new dimensions to his photographic process.
